Ingredients for a nice winter treat: 1 bowl of fresh snow(8 cups, to be exact). We have the powdery kind, but use what you've got... This is a short video of Callie feeding the ducks this past weekend. She was being really brave! A whole flock of ducks coming at you all at once can be quite intimidating, but she did great! I found out recently that my good friend Dan Stoddard has been living in Logan within a couple miles of me for about a year now and neither of us knew of our proximity! We had a super-great Memorial Weekend! We had Callie over all weekend and it was lots of fun. I posted this tree about two months ago right after I first collected it. Back then it was completely leafless and bare. To most people it probably looked worthless and dead, but I knew better. Look at it now!It still has a lot of growing to do this season and many seasons in the future, but I'm happy that it is recovering strongly so far!

Now that Callie is staying back up in Cache Valley again after so many months of being down with her grandparents, I get to have regular visits again! I was working for the Census Bureau last month; what an adventure - going on roads where no man has gone before (or so it seemed). This morning we ran out of juice to drink- on Thanksgiving, no less! Ever resourceful, I went over to the neighbor's apple tree and grabbed a few of the ones that were still left on it. We blended them up, squeezed 'em out and viola! Very fresh and tasty apple juice!

A couple weeks ago we moved my greenhouse from it's spot on the parking area( A) to cover the gardenspot(B) so our tomatoes would some protection from the frosts. I followed Mom's lead and chopped my Angelwing begonia down to size. There were 18 stalks, most of which were taller than me and going everywhere. They were so heavy that the only thing strong enough to hold them up was several lengths of rebar! Now it will be a very happy. bushy, compact plant (for a little while). :0)
