Practice makes perfect!

I guess riding those go-karts up in the hills all those years ago finally had a practical application!  For Callie's 5th birthday we got a screaming deal on tickets to Planet Play down in Draper.(It's like Chucky Cheese, but without the scary giant animatronic puppets and stuff.) This video is my favorite:

I hope this works, i had to upload it via youtube in some roundabout way. Watch at lap 4 or 5 when I take the lead, it's pretty cool I think! Then I leave them all in the dust! Mwa-ha-ha-ha!
Really though, the most important thing is that we all had a good time...

We had a lot of food...
played some games...

There was laser tag too and I took a video of it, but it was too dark to see who was who!
We had to convince her that rolling the ball halfway up the ramp and letting it come back to you is not the object of the game.

We HAD to have a Hello Kitty cake, of course!
It was a fun day for everyone!

Thank you Paula Deen!

Ingredients for a nice winter treat:
1 bowl of fresh snow(8 cups, to be exact). We have the powdery kind, but use what you've got...

Add one (14 oz.)can of sweetened condensed milk and vanilla flavoring to taste...

Mix it together...

It will be a little soupy, but that's it! You can put it back outside to solidify(unless you've got curious neighborhood critters) or put it in the freezer overnight for your very own snow ice cream! Or maybe you are the impatient kind like us and you just want to eat it now! Either way, enjoy!

The bread store

It started with going to the Hostess/Wonderbread outlet and asking them if they had any stale or expired bread we could use for feeding ducks. She girl said she could sell it to us for $1.00 and we almost didn't think we would want to pay a dollar a loaf to just throw it away to some old ducks. then we though it was still cheaper than some other forms of entertainment like going to the movies, so we said we'd go ahead and do it.
she then grabbed a grocery bag and headed to the back. When she cam back out, the bag was stuffed full of about 5 loaves of bread , hot dog buns, and hamburger buns(and they didn't even feel very crusty!) Then we headed to the park! In the past Callie has shown quite a fear of animals, but this time after only a few seconds of trepidation she was right in there letting them eat the bread right out of her hand!

Feeding ducks!

This is a short video of Callie feeding the ducks this past weekend. She was being really brave! A whole flock of ducks coming at you all at once can be quite intimidating, but she did great! It starts kind of fuzzy but it will clear up after a few seconds.  I will have some more clips of this up soon!
