Mom you hit the nail on the head when you said orchids are on their own schedule. It's been three weeks since I posted the last picture of this plant's buds. Now the first one is finally getting open!
I can say that it has been worth the wait to grow this one out to blooming point. this is a very vivid color and not what I was expecting at all. Another day or two (hopefully) and it will be open for us to enjoy fully!

That IS pretty. My Christmas cactus is sad, I think over break I'm going to go for it- cut it up and try to start again. It's an ooooold lady, we'll see if I can give it a new lease on life.
I wish I had you magic when it comes to my plants. that is so prett Zach. jealous. you are so good.
