I posted this tree about two months ago right after I first collected it. Back then it was completely leafless and bare. To most people it probably looked worthless and dead, but I knew better. Look at it now!
It still has a lot of growing to do this season and many seasons in the future, but I'm happy that it is recovering strongly so far!

I think it's fun to see something brought back to life. I always check out the half-dead rejects on the racks at Lowes and Home Depot. I think, "I can trim that here...cut it off there...put it on the west side..." but I usually pass up the dead sticks.
