Anyone who is familiar with my history knows that today is signifigant. This day today is especially signifigant because starting now I will have spent more of my life with my disability than without it. I'd say I've come pretty far since then.
I remember that Zach, I only knew you a short while before the shooting episode. I am sure it changed your life in many ways even ways I am not aware of.
My son, my son. I have loved you from before you were born. You have always added sunshine to my life, and I am so glad you're still here. I remember praying all the way to the hospital on the day that our world changed,"Please don't take my son, please, Heavenly Father, don't take my son..." Then when I found you wrapped in bandages, looking so, so bad, I said, "Heavenly Father, take him home if you need him more than I do, but we need him a lot." We didn't know what damage you'd suffered, and rejoiced when you knew your name, recognized your family, and when asked what flavor of jello you were eating, you said, "red." What a long road home from there, huh? I am amazed and so proud of your courage, faith, forgiveness, determination and cheerful attitude. You are quite an inspiration, and we are so proud of you. "And all these things will give thee experience". So true, huh? Muuuuuaaaaahhhhhh! That's a big old smooch from your mama
leave it to all you guys to make me ball my eyes out tonight. Shheeesh.. manda's blog made me ball and now yours. I love you my brother. I thought this date held significance but I always thought it was me mixing up Mom's birthday with Joels birth month, now I know why. you r amazing zach and I love you love you love you. :)
